Trimay Hardfacing Wires

General Characteristics

Trimay TWP 56W is a chromium carbon alloy, which develops a network of carbides in a tough austenitic matrix. This general purpose hard surfacing wire is low cost, very versatile and resists both high and low stress abrasion as well as moderate to heavy impact. Trimay TWP 56W requires no external shielding to produce sound deposits and will operate within a wide voltage and amperage range with voltage tolerances that are high enough to permit the use of variable speed wire feeders and any conventional power source. The deposit is slightly magnetic and cannot be flame cut, machined or forged. No special welding techniques are required.

Trimay TWP 57W is a high carbon, chromium iron based alloy that develops a high percentage of hexagonal chrome carbides in an austenitic carbide matrix. This yields a weld metal deposit that has excellent resistance to both low and high stress abrasion with moderate corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. Trimay TWP 57W requires no external shielding and produces a low slag volume that does not require removal between passes. The weld deposit readily stress relieves (surface checks), is non-machinable and cannot be flame cut. No special welding techniques are required.

Trimay TWP 65W is a complex carbide alloy designed to resist severe abrasive wear at service temperatures up to 450° celsius. Deposit is machineable by grinding only and cannot be flame cut.

Applications

Trimay TWP 56W can be used on carbon steel, manganese base materials and mild or alloy steels. Maximum recommended deposit thickness of 2-3 layers or 1/4". For use on: jaw or cone crushers, shovel teeth, hammer mill hammers, pug mill paddles, crusher roll shells, augers, plowshares and cultivator sweeps.

Trimay TWP 57W wire provides good deposits with exceptional hot hardness to a deposit thickness of 2-3 layers or 1/4" as required. This excellent hard surfacing wire is used on crusher rolls, augers, pusher shoes, sintering plant equipment, bucket teeth, hammer mill equipment and screw conveyors.

Trimay TWP 65W deposits retain good hardness at elevated temperatures (450° celsius). Deposit thickness should not exceed 3/8" in 2-3 layers. Typical applications include: auger, bucket teeth, hammer mill equipment, screw conveyors, coal screens and other wear surfaces subject to severe abrasion.
