Overlay Products

Trimay produces an extensive range of overlay products, for use in mining, power generation, construction and processing industries. Our core group of products are:
  • T138 - This is a chromium carbide plate with abrasive wear performance which exceeds all known AR plate by up to 8X. This product will replace all commercial overlay plates with up to 2X the service life. In-the-field use is enhanced by its excellent formability, impact resistant and welding characteristics Available in a variety of thicknesses up to 18 mm (3/4 inch)
  • T156 - Similar in makeup to the T138, but with a slightly elevated level of chromium and molybdenum. This product gives the best all round performance on a value for money basis.It offers outstanding wearability and resistance to heavy impact. This product generally outperforms the highest grade of plate offered by our competitors.
  • T157 - A higher level of chromium and manganese affords this plate the ability to handle extreme abrasion with ease. Exceeds the wear resistance of other overlay plates by up to 4X, with only a nominal price differential over T156. The low friction finish and high polish of this plate improves material flow and reduces stiction. Forming and welding are still easily accomplished. The best performing chrome carbide plate on the market.
  • T161 - This is the newest addition to our product range. It is a heat resistant complex carbide product for use in applications where operating conditions are extreme and may exceed 800>C. Excellent resistance to heat scaling and corrosion resistance similar to 300 series stainless steel. This product can be used in place of cobalt/chromium/tungsten alloys. It is still easily formable and can be rolled into inside or outside bends and pipe.
  • T165 - This is our premium tungsten/chromium carbide plate, for use in applications considered extremely severe and where wear from abrasion is still a factor. This plates performance exceeds all known wear plate, AR or overlays and replaces cast white irons, ceramics and similar products. Like all Trimay products, formability and workability are still exceptional.
In addition to the core group of products, Trimay offers an additional two formulations, for specific applications in the power generation, paper and refining industries.
  • T17/16 - This is a crack free deposit with a hardness rating equal to tool steel. Ideal for aggressive environments with moderate abrasion and impact problems.
  • T21 - This is another crack free overlay, being equal to 410 grade stainless steels, but with a higher molybdenum content, for increased wear life. This product is ideal for environments where high temperature, corrosion, erosion and wear is a problem.
Overlays can be formulated to customer specifications and applied to any low carbon base plate, whether mild steel, stainless steel or the more exotic grades of steel.



Paving Systems

Trimay manufactures a series of chromium and tungsten carbide wear plates for both the OEM and the "After Market" repair shops. Field proven for over 40 years to reduce maintenance costs in the construction and paving industries.

We custom make to OEM specifications: Paver Screeds, Main & Extenders, Slat Conveyor Floors, Carlson Screeds, Paver Drag Pans & Feeder Flight Bars.



For:

Caterpillar, Barber-Greene, Blaw-Knox, Cedarrapids, Ingersol and all other pavers.

Trimay T-156 replaces ceramic slat floor liners, providing a low friction surface and at the same time reducing the wear on slat conveyor chain bars.

Trimay produces a specialized line of plate and fabricated components for all industries in which excess wear of machinery is a problem: Cement Manufacturing, Lumber Processing, Garbage Disposal, Power Generation, Asphalt Production, and Paving.
